St. Mary’s Trunk or Treat – Wednesday October 26 – 6 p.m.

Join us for a fun evening where the kids at St. Mary’s  have the opportunity to dress up in costume and trick or treat on campus. Volunteers decorate their trunks and pass out candy on the top floor of our garage, and they will also be hosting a community meal afterwards! If you want to participate but do not have a car, that is no problem at all. They have 6-foot folding tables that can be set up and decorated as an alternative! Email jbatson@stmaryscenterma.org for more info/to sign up.

Join the City of Boston and the Boston Planning & Development Agency for the two developers’ presentations for Site 1 (555-559 Columbia Road) within the Upham’s Corner Arts and Innovation District. This will be an opportunity for the community to share your feedback on the two proposals submitted in response to the Request for Proposals (RFP). Dorchester Open Studios – October 22 & 23 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

More info on Facebook, however, the folks at Humphreys Street Studios, Brain-Arts Org/Dorchester Art Project, & Uphams Corner BPL have been meeting to resurrect a Dorchester-wide Open Studios event, this fall. It will take place Saturday/Sunday, October 22 & 23, from 11am to 5pm.

The idea is that this is a “build back” year — and this fall we will simply hold the event — Dorchester-wide. Anyone who is a Dorchester artist who wants to open their doors that weekend, is considered a participant. There is no application, no fee, but also no group locations (however, if anyone wants to put together their own group location, go for it!)
