Dear Members of Jones Hill Association,

With the holiday season now upon us, we wanted to share several ways that you can give back to the Jones Hill (and surrounding) communities.

  • Boston Police Department (C-11): Our local police district is now accepting unwrapped toys at 40 Gibson Street for their children’s toy drive. You can drop toys off in person. If you have any questions, you can give them a call at 617-343-4524. Deadline for donations December 21st.
  • MBK617: MBK617 is hosting its neighborhood Santa Sleigh Ride again this year, which will take place on December 18. The organizers will come to your house to pick up a toy donation; you can reach out to Piter Brandao at pbrandao1@ymail.com.
  • St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children: For the December holidays, St. Mary’s representatives say it would be the most helpful if JHA focused on gift cards. The gift cards could be from places like Stop & Shop, Target, Amazon, Walmart, and TJ Maxx and could also be Visa gift cards. In addition, we are attaching a wish list from the families at St. Mary’s, who have each shared their top 2-3 wishes for the season. Those interested in sponsoring a family can email Nora Lehan, the development director at the center, at nlehan@stmaryscenterma.org. She’ll then send you information about a family and their gift wishlist. She asks that you don’t wrap the gifts, add a label with the recipient’s name, and drop gifts off at the center’s main entrance.
  • St. Mary’s Episcopal Church: The St. Mary’s Food Pantry is accepting both cash and in-kind donations this holiday season.

If there is another local organization that you would like to add, please share details with info@joneshill.com!
